Hey, babes!
I hope you’re doing well. Breaking News is off to the editor, I’m on the road to Colorado, and I’m reminded again that this is really what brings me joy, exhausting as travel can be. I’m a nomad at heart. Forever afflicted with wanderlust. Sitting still doesn’t suit me.
This week, I’ve been getting in reviews for the second edition of Bune, and I’m grateful for everyone that’s picked up a copy or read and reviewed the ARC. After Unsound, I’m working on Thoth. I have missed this universe.
I first released Bune in 2019, and I’ve been blown away by the support it’s received from day one. This is what reviewers are saying:
What a debut for a start to this series. Thayer has written a masterful portrayal of the things that cause nightmares, breathing life into fear in a way that turns the pages in a desperate need to see how it will all end. Whenever I had a hole to read, I sat down for it. I just wanted to know if she was going to make it? I really enjoyed this book; it was descriptive, intense, and just a little creepy. It reminded me of David Clark’s books. — Wilma from the Netherlands (5 stars)
This is an eye opening, constantly shifting, crazy intense ride. This skill of this author is fantastic. The detail of the world their created is phenomenal. The characters are amazing to get to know and watch change as the story goes along. So many times did I think it was coming to a close and then I would look at how much I had left and I would wonder what could be next. And I was not prepared for what came next. This is a truly captivating book that drags your entire consciousness along for the ride. Truly fabulous read. —Emzy Strong (5 stars)
You can pick up your copy at https://books2read.com/bune and give the first book of the Godhead trilogy a spin in advance of book two, Thoth, releasing in the next few months.
In other big news, my beloved bestie and co-author, K.O. Newman (of
) and I are moving the Blood Moon Riders Motorcycle Club series out of Kindle Unlimited and throwing her wide on April 15. The Nomads are going on a journey, and we’re excited to make this next step. There are five books published, and we have plans to release two more books in the series this year. We love BMRMC, and we know you will too. This little nugget is currently going by the name of Daisy. She has one sister, Lily, and three brothers, Polar Bear, Big Bear, and Duke. Daisy is my little buddy, who crawls immediately into my lap and falls asleep in my arms every time I visit (this past week and a half since she’s learned to use her legs). She growls and yips in her sleep, and she’s the sweetest. In case you couldn’t tell, I’m in love.
I’m driving to Colorado over the next couple of days to pick up my kiddo and then head north to Wyoming to visit family we haven’t seen since August. Road trips are good for my soul, and I have a pretty solid setup. I car camp, shower at truck stops, work remotely from Starbucks, and take time to think while the interstate stretches out in front of me.
With that said, I need to get back on the road. The sooner I get stopped, the more likely I’ll be able to write and then rest before making the final stretch tomorrow.
As always, I appreciate each of you that chooses to come along on this ride with me. Feel free to comment or reply to mariahthayer@substack.com, I love hearing from you!
Be well.
XOXO,
Mariah
The second time around
That puppy looks so sweet! 🥰🥰🥰
I’m such a princess camper, I dunno if I could car camp. I mean I’ve driven part way across the country and have slept in truck stops so I guess I already have, but it’s definitely not my first choice! That puppy is absolutely adorable and makes me want more fur babies!
